8th Advanced World Aerobatic Championships Opens in USA
Submitted by Mike Heuer on Mon, 04/08/2008 - 23:14.
The 8th World Aerobatic Championships opened in Pendleton, Oregon, USA on the 2nd of August. Flying began with Programme Q on the 3rd and was completed in the morning today. Winner of the Q -- which is a Known compulsory flight -- was Todd Whitmer of the USA flying an Edge 540T. Second was Rob Holland fof the USA flying an MX2 and in third, Patrick Davidson of South Africa in an Extra 300L. Q is a "qualification" flight and normally does not count toward the final results unless there are weather delays. However, results from the programme help determine the order of flight for the subsequent programme, the Free (Programme 1). The Free also began today and will continue until this evening, though only part of the pilots will finish. The programme should complete tomorrow, 5 August. |
