CIA BUREAU ACTIONS DURING 1999
- The Bureau approved the change of name and location for the Sendai Hot Air Balloon
International Championship 1999 from Sendai to Motegi.
- The Bureau delegated its authority to the CIA President to act on its behalf in respect
of CASI initiatives and decisions during 1999.
- The Bureau, on the recommendation of the Rules Subcommittee and AX Working Group
Chairmen, approved the Rules for the Mobilux Trophy 99.
- The Bureau approved the signing of the Great Balloon Race contract.
- The Bureau approved the following new rates for Country Donations to CIA.

- The Bureau decided that the Secretary should take over administration of the CIA Badges
Scheme.
- The Bureau decided that despite the late delivery of the Sanction Package by EPAS the
Sanction Fee in respect of the Cup of Prominent Russian Aeronauts should not be returned.
ADDITIONAL BUREAU ACTIONS DURING 1999/2000
- International Juries: Replace Alain Poulet with Bengt Stener at the 1999 Coupe
dEurope
Switch Patrick Kearley and Torben Hansen between Akwawit and Velike Luki
- CIA Donations: Decided to adopt new procedures for the collection of CIA Member
Contribution donations
- Appointed Alex Nagorski as the WAG CIA Media Expert until the next CIA Meeting (2000).
- Agreed to adopt the revised FAI/CIA Organisers Agreement and to make the document an
integral part of the CIA Event Sanctioning process.
- Agreed to accept the Presidents proposal for handling new motions for the Plenary
2000 under the new By-law 5.6.4.
- Accepted resignations of SC and WG members:
Koos Grobbelaar Logo and Products WG
Kirk Thomas Media WG
- Bureau decided to recommend to the Plenary that CIA make an application to FAI for the
Balloon Museum Gersthofen to be included in the FAI list of Recommended Museums (BL
Chapter 15)
