Nomination of candidate for the 2000 Santos-Dumont Gold Airship medal
For remarkable sporting performance
OSCAR LINDSTRÖM
In 1988 Oscar Lindström set two World airship records. These records are still standing. Since the start of international airship competition in 1988 he competed in all major events and was always in the top of the ranking. Only urgently needed surgery could prevent him from competing in the 2000 World Championships. His series of performances together represent a remarkable sporting achievement.
