3. Safety Officer Handbook.
The subcommittee recommends that the following paragraph to be added to the Safety Officer Handbook:
2.1 QUALIFICATION LEVELS AND CRITERIA
To objective is to provide a recognisable identity for potential Safety Officers for international competitions of Free Balloons and Airships
- Must be a member in good standing of his NAC.
- Must have some piloting experience in aerostats.
- Must have gained some experience in national or international competition in aerostation as a competitor or official.
- Must have a basic technical understanding of how an aerostat is working.
- Must have a basic understand of emergency procedures and first-aid.
- Must have a basic understanding of meteorology.
- Must be able to communicate in the official language of the event.
Future work intended on the Handbook is updating of the report form and to add a chapter on hydrogen precautions.
4. Safety Web site.
The committee will publish all reports and document on the web site. The Safety Bulletins will be on the Web site.
5. Medical Requirements.
Remains to be studied during the year. We have noted that that CIMP have started the same investigation.
During the World Air Games will the CIMP hold an International Symposium on Air Sport Medicine.
6 Safety Library.
The Library is today located with Jean Sax. The committee will study if the documents in the library is still relevant. If possible some of the documents may be put on the web site.
7 Nomination of Safety Sub-Committee for 2001/2002.
