FAI BALLOONING COMMISSION (CIA)

PRESS RELEASE - March 21st

The FAI Ballooning Commission wishes to congratulate Bertrand Piccard (SUI) and Brian Jones (GBR) for the first successful circumnavigation of the world in the Breitling Orbiter 3 balloon.

The Ballooning Commission also wishes to thank the International Olympic Committee for the awarding of the Olympic Order to the 2 pilots. This is a rare honour for non Olympic sportsmen.

The records claimed by the two pilots will be reviewed as soon as all evidence is collected.
