On 14 October 2005, the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) celebrated its first century of existence. The FAI was founded on 14 October 1905 in Paris, and its world headquarters was established in Lausanne, the Olympic Capital, in 1998. To mark its special connections with these cities, FAI held several events in 2005 in Paris and in Lausanne. But the centenary of FAI and air sports was of course also celebrated in other parts of the world. You will find below the program of the FAI Centenary events.
Le 14 octobre 2005, la Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) a célébré son premier siècle d'existence. Fondée le 14 octobre 1905 à Paris, la FAI a installé son siège mondial à Lausanne, Capitale olympique, en 1998. Afin de marquer son attachement à ces deux villes, plusieurs événements y ont été organisés en 2005. Le centenaire de la FAI et des sports aériens a bien entendu aussi été célébré dans d'autres parties du monde; vous trouverez ci-dessous le programme des festivités du Centenaire FAI.
