The zero-fuel aircraft Solar Impulse continues its journey around the world. After spending several days on the ground in Ahmedabad, India, to have everything ready for the next flights, André Borschberg started the 4th leg of the round-the-world mission at 1:48 am UTC yesterday. He headed to Varanasi (Benares), India, where he landed at 15:03 UTC.

Bertrand Piccard successfully landed in Ahmedabad, India. It is the first time that Solar Impulse lands on the Asian continent. He piloted Solar Impulse 2 from Muscat, flying across the Arabian Sea over a distance of 1468 km. The FAI will review the distance record claim dossier, and if it is ratified it will supersede the record previously set by André Borschberg onboard Solar Impulse in 2013.

Bertrand Piccard took off this morning at 6:35 UTC+4 from Muscat, Oman, onboard Solar Impulse 2. Before starting his journey to Ahmedabad, India, he revealed that he would attempt to break the FAI world record of Distance in the Experimental / New Technologies, Solar-Powered Aeroplane category.

Solar Impulse 2, the solar-powered aircraft piloted by André Borschberg, landed a few minutes ago in Muscat Oman, after taking off this morning from Abu Dhabi. The first leg of the "Around the World in a Solar Aircraft" mission is now completed.

FAI Secretary Susanne Schödel witnessed Solar Impulse take-off this morning in Abu Dhabi to reach Muscat (Oman), before crossing the Arabian Sea to Ahmedabad (India).

The FAI has today announced the list of the 11 sports and 24 disciplines selected for the FAI World Air Games Dubai 2015. More than 1000 athletes, crews and officials will be involved in the multi air sports event. It will be the biggest FAI World Air Games ever organised.

The FAI has announced the winners of the 2014 FAI Awards and FAI-Breitling Award, celebrating the outstanding dedication and contribution to air sports.
The ceremony took place last night in Pattaya, Thailand, as part of the 108th FAI General Conference which is held today and tomorrow, and hosted by the Royal Aeronautic Sports Association of Thailand (RASAT).
For the first time, live streaming allowed people from all around the world to be in the heart of the event. Judging from the amount of views and comments, this new feature was a complete success. For those who missed it, the replay of the whole ceremony can be watched on the FAI Youtube Channel.

The FAI announced today that the 2015 edition of the FAI World Air Games has been awarded to the United Arab Emirates and will be held in Dubai. This multi-discipline event will be organised by the Emirates Aerosports Federation and will take place over a period of 12 days in December 2015. It is the only world competition that brings together the various different air sports.
