France Holds On to its FAI Aerobatic World Championships Titles - Rob Holland Freestyle World Champion for the Third Consecutive Time

France takes home all gold medals at the 28th FAI World Aerobatics Championships: general rankings, team ranking, individual male and individual female.
After ten days of a particularly challenging competition French pilot Capitaine Alexandre Orlowski (France - left) is the new World Champion.
The French female pilot Aude Lemordant (left) also takes gold at the women’s competition. She finishes sixth in general rankings, just behind Orlowski, Mikhail Mamistov (Russia) Castor Fantoba (Spain), Gerald Cooper (Great Britain) and Capitaine François Rallet (France).
For the first time in the history of the FAI World Aerobatic Championships, Rob Holland from USA has won the Final Freestyle three times in a row (2011, 2013, 2015).

Coming from all parts of the globe, the participants in the 28th FAI World Aerobatic Championship received a warm welcome by the population of Châteauroux, France, this afternoon. Crowds cheered the pilots as they paraded down the streets of the city until the main place, where more than 2000 people had gathered to greet them and attend the opening ceremony. Officials' speeches were followed by two spectacular passages of the French Air Force display team and an aerial dance show.

From August 20 to August 29, 2015, the 60 best aerobatic pilots in the world will gather in Châteauroux, in the Center region of France, to compete for the most coveted of all aerobatic titles. The partially renewed French team will defend its four titles won in the Individual, Team, Male, and Female categories during the last world championships in Texas in 2013. The French Aeronautical Federation (FFA) is organizing this sporting event and will also offer the public a number of attractions on the ground to complete the aerobatic performances. The event will end on Saturday August 29 with a giant free-admission airshow.

As the 200-day mark to the FAI World Air Games Dubai 2015 approaches, everyone, from the Event Organisers to the Executive Board, the FAI Head Office, the Air Sports Commissions and experts, is in full action to make the event a huge success. A series of meetings took place recently which brought together key personalities from the FAI community and the Event Organising Committee.

The FAI has today announced the list of the 11 sports and 24 disciplines selected for the FAI World Air Games Dubai 2015. More than 1000 athletes, crews and officials will be involved in the multi air sports event. It will be the biggest FAI World Air Games ever organised.

FAI officials gathered in Dubai this week to get to know the members of the Organising Committee, the host city and the competition venues of the FAI World Air Games Dubai 2015. A series of meetings were held where the Executive Board and the FAI World Air Games Experts from the Sports Commissions discussed the key issues pertinent to FAI’s flagship event.

The 2014 Annual Meeting of the FAI Aerobatics Commission (CIVA) was held on 7 and 8 November 2014 in Wroclaw, Poland.
