Around the turnpoint… on a better day (photo: Martin Scheel)

13th of July 2006 Under a not very optimistic grey sky the pilots launched at midday from Mont Chery for a 6th task of 5 turnpoints and goal in Morzine (43,9 km). About an hour after the start point opened it started to rain at some places and there were some big developments in certain points of the Morzine valley, with strong turbulences. The task was stopped before any pilot could complete it, so it scores no points. The Championship is now finished and yesterday overall results remain unchanged.

12th of July 2006 By midday all the pilots launched from Mont Chery for a 54,8 km task through 4 turnpoints and goal in Samoens. The start point opened at 13:00 so that all the pilots have the chance to complete their flights before the storms appear. Due to the quick development of thunderstorms in the area, the meet director decided to stop the task at 14:56, with 50 pilots already in goal.

Mont Chery take-off (photo: Martin Scheel)

9th of July 2006 All pilots waited at Mont Chery take-off for the third task to start. Unluckily, the weather didn’t improved and cirruses clouds blocked the thermals, so, again, the day was declared unflyable.

5th of July 2006 As neither the two official take-off look good, the competition moves to Samoens, 30 km away, hoping for better conditions. Unfortunatly the cloud base remains too low to allow a task to take part.
