Robert Aarts
Robert started hang gliding in 1993 while living in the USA. Back home in Finland he organized some paragliding competitions, became inspired and learnt to fly paragliders in 1998. Since 2003 he has been a regular, but not so frequent, participant in FAI paragliding competitions. His best WPRS ranking so far was just short of the top 500 (507), so there are plenty of challenges left! He is a volunteer-instructor in his club and also tries to organize a couple of XC-courses/group-trips to France each year. He has served short stints as chairman of his local club and the Finnish national hang and paragliding commission. He attended his first CIVL meeting in 2010 where he was elected chairman of the Paragliding Subcommittee.
