WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT : 1350km OVER THE SEA WITH A POWERED-PARAGLIDER On Monday 23 April, Spanish pilot Ramon Morillas should take-off for his new World Record Attempt : A flight of 1350 km over the sea, from the south of Spain to the Canary Island of Tenerife. Recent stormy weather delayed the date of the attempt, thus giving Ramon some more days to train and test his equipment. Ramon Morillas currently holds 5 FAI World Records and, if achieving this performance, he would beat his own distance record of 950km. After taking off from Jerez de La Frontera (South of Spain), Ramon Morillas will fly in a south-westerly direction to Los Realejos (north of Tenerife). He will carry 65 kg of fuel; his special safety equipment will include a water suit, life-vest, radio beacons, water-activated strobe, tracking systems, and a self-inflating rescue boat. Real-time progress on the flight will be available at www.draconexion.com.
