Here are the main decisions that have been taken during the GAC 2010 Annual Meeting held on 29 and 30 October 2010:


New FAI Secretary General Appointed

Stéphane Desprez, former Competition Director of the 2008 Rugby World Cup in France, has been appointed as the new Secretary General of the FAI – the World Air Sports Federation. He will formally take up his appointment in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 1st February 2010.


7th FAI European Rally Flying Championships

Opening CeremonyThe 7th FAI European Rally Flying Championships were held at Castellón (Spain) from 06 to 12 September 2009. Filling the top three positions were: 1st: Julien Cherioux/David Le Gentil - France 2nd: Waclaw Wieczorek/Boleslaw Radomski - Poland 3rd: Janusz Darocha/Zbigniew Chrzaszcz - Poland Full results can be found Here.

19th World Precision Flying Championships

The 19th World Precision Flying Championships were held in Torun, Poland from 19 to 26 July 2009. Team Event - Podium Team Podium The top three individual positions were filled by pilots from the host nation:

  • 1st - Krzysztof Wieczorek
  • 2nd - Janusz Darocha
  • 3rd - Marek Kachaniak


2009 GAC Annual Plenary Meeting

2008 Annual Plenary Meeting

The General Aviation Commission met in Prague (CZE) on October 17-19, during which GAC President Mr. Pedro CABANERO-MARIMON (ESP) and his bureau were re-elected to serve another year. The next meeting will take place on 6-8 November 2009 in Palma de Mallorca (ESP).

General Aviation Commission (GAC)Annual Meeting 2005 in Limassol, Cyprus

The GAC Annual Meeting has been successfully concluded in the beautiful surroundings of Cyprus. The arrangements were excellent and we are very grateful to our Cypriotic hosts. The FAI President honoured the meeting by his presence. New countries to our meetings were Japan and Israel. Some new delegates were also present.A few changes were made to the Precision and RAlly Flying Rules. All officers were re-elected.
