Information on IGC-approved Flight Recorders

GAC uses basically the IGC Requirements documented in ANNEX B TO SPORTING CODE Section 3: " TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR EQUIPMENT USED IN VALIDATION OF FLIGHTS " ( last edition ). The necessary deviations required for motor flying have been included in Annex 4 to Section 2.

Equipment for gathering flight data, approved by the International Gliding Commission (IGC) in accordance with ANNEX B TO SPORTING CODE Section 3 will be accepted by GAC if the specific requirement for motor flying are met and a formal approval is granted by GAC.

Equipment not yet approved has to go through testing by GAC experts before it can be used in GAC events.
