Free software for IGC approved GNSS flight recorders

The free IGC program for downloading and validation of IGC flight data files is the IGC Shell program that is compatible with the MS Windows operating system (details, Appendix 3 of the Technical Specification for IGC-approved GNSS flight recorders). The IGC shell program was provided by GFAC member Marc Ramsey. This shell program (with source code) together with a demonstration DLL is available as a zip file.

This page also provides links to the latest manufacturers' Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files that work with the IGC Shell program when the DLL file is placed in the same directory as the Shell program. The combination of the IGC Shell program and the appropriate manufacturer's DLL file provides download and validation functions for IGC flight data files from recorders by that manufacturer.

This page also has links to the earlier DATA, VALI and CONV program files from manufacturers for their respective flight recorders.

Links are also provided for downloading ZIP files from manufacturers. These include the DLL, DATA, VALI and CONV files mentioned above and any other manufacturers' programs that have been given to IGC to distribute as freeware. Other recorder manufacturer's programs are a matter between a manufacturer and customers.
