Important Notice Regarding the Development of Flight Recorders for IGC Approval

Anyone even remotely considering development of a FR for eventual IGC-approval should contact the Chairmen of the IGC GNSS and GFA Committees (through the FAI office if you do not have their contact addresses).

This will enable you to be included in the listing of current and potential future manufacturers of IGC-approved flight recorders. This list is used for circulation of material concerning IGC-approval including discussion on points raised, and in the development of drafts for amendment of the Technical Specification for IGC-approved GNSS Flight Recorders.

Any new designs being considered can then be developed with awareness not only of the published Technical Specifications, but also likely future refinements and updates of IGC requirements.
