President's Letter to Delegates and Committee Chairmen 2008-3Dear Delegates IGC Report to the FAI Our Report to the FAI General Conference is completed and has been sent to the FAI Office. A copy has been sent to you for distribution to your colleagues. Sporting Code Section 3 Rewrite – Update #4 The latest update of the SC3 Draft has been circulated to you. My thanks for to the SC3 Committee for being able to get this draft out before the planned date. The next deadline is Saturday the 1st of November. This is the last day for making submissions and comments on the Final Draft. IGC-OLC League Results A separate report is being sent to you by Axel Reich with the IGC-OLC League Results. It is very encouraging to see that we have 1050 Clubs taking part in this on-line contest and my congratulations to the winners, Aeroclub Langenselbold, Germany. Their location close to Frankfurt show just how it is possible to have a successful soaring community despite airspace restrictions. 2009 World Air Games Update The work towards creating the 2009 World Air Games continues and we are working now with the FAI Office and the Local Organising Committee to finalise the names of the pilots who will be competing in the GP racing at the Air Games. IGC Working Groups We now have the following Working Groups in place:
And François Pin has taken over the chairmanship of the Low-end Glider group. FAI General Conference and IGC Bureau Meeting The FAI General Conference is being held at the beginning of October and we will be having an IGC Bureau meeting at Wasserkuppe on the 6th and 7th of October. The agenda for the Bureau meeting is very full and we will be sending out a summary of the meeting as soon as we can afterwards. Bob Henderson
