Ranking List Sanction FeesChanges to the IGC Ranking List Sanction fee structure from 1st January 2010During the last few years we have been discussing changes to the IGC Pilots Ranking List (IGC RL) competition sanction fee system. The system we have been using since the inception of the Ranking List was intended to be simple and easy to administer, however the system is now more mature and we are ready to change to a sanction fee structure based on the number of entries in the competition. The changes have been approved by the IGC Bureau with a basic fee of 4 euro per entry with a minimum of 100euro. For many smaller competitions this change will reduce the cost of their inclusion and we hope this will result in many more contests being included in future years. Of course as in previous years Junior National Championships are included free of charge. We will continue with the very popular facility for a National Aero Club (NAC) to enter all their Nationals classes together. The ‘per entry’ rate will be the same as all other competitions but with a maximum charge of 500 euro. We will also be offering a facility for NAC’s to enter all the contests in their country at a special all inclusive rate. We will provide an exclusive page for their pilots which will allow any participating NAC to use the IGC RL for local national ranking purposes. Full details of prices and procedures can found on the Ranking List web site or go directly to:- http://www.fai.org/gliding/rankings/sanction_fees.php The RL working group will also be making a proposal at the next IGC plenum to change the calculation of the competition quality factor. This change is intended to reduce the negative impact of this calculation on smaller contests. Please ensure your NAC has full details of how they can get their competitions on the IGC RL. Please ask them to get in touch with me if they require any further details or clarification of the new procedures. The Ranking List team would like to wish everybody a prosperous and cumulus filled 2010. Brian Spreckley. IGC Ranking List Manager |
