Preliminary Remarks

a) The Local Procedures describe operational procedures relevant to the site and
complement these Rules.

b) In this Annex the words "must", "shall", and "may not" indicate mandatory
requirements; "should" indicates a recommendation; "may" indicates what is
permitted; and “will" indicates what is going to happen.

c) In this document, wherever the word he, his or him is used, it should be taken as
he/she, his/hers or him/her.

d) The numbering format of the Sporting Code General Section has been used in the
layout of these Rules.

e) Explanatory text and notes are included as unnumbered paragraphs in italic Arial 10 font.

f) Appendix 3 – the Bid Procedure for World Championships - has yet to be included
in this document. An updated electronic version of the Bid Procedure is under
development and it will be added as soon as it is available.
