The Aerobatic Working Group takes care of competition regulation and calendar, pilots ranking and judges training. As aerobatics is a fairly new CIVL discipline, it means that a lot of work needs to be done!
In 2005, the World Aerobatic Tour included 5 events.

A lot of work this year for the Aerobatic Working Group. It needs to organize a convincing calendar, stabilize the regulations and train new judges. Its aim? A great 2005 year, so the 2006 first official World Championship can be awesome!

The 2 year rule

The current situation is that every pilot entering an international competition (FAI Category 1 or 2) must show his Sporting Licence. The country issuing the Licence is considered to be the country that pilot is flying for in Category 1 events. If a pilot wants to fly for another country, he will have to observe a 2 calendar year delay without flying in any Category 1 events before he can switch his allegiance.
