CIVL would like to take this opportunity to invite bids to host the following hang gliding and paragliding World Championships in 2003:

  • World Hang Gliding Championships

  • World Speed Gliding Championships
  • World Accuracy Championships

Potential host countries should refer to chapter 3 of the FAI General Section, in particular 3.8.1 (class 0, hang gliders and paragliders) and Chapter 5 of Sporting Code, Section 7.

Bids to host these World Championships in 2003 will be voted on at the CIVL Plenary meeting (Thursday 22 - Sun 25 February, 2001, at the Olympic Museum, Lausanne, Switzerland). Bidders should be prepared to make a short presentation at this meeting (presentation guidelines will be sent with acknowledgement of receipt of your intention to bid).

Potential bids should be notified before Fri December 15th to Paula Bowyer (paula@fai.org)

Intentions to bid for 2004 Continental Championships

Countries intending to bid for 2004 Continental Championships are invited to lodge their intention to bid at the 2001 Plenary meeting. An intention to bid does not require a presentation at the 2001 Plenary meeting and can be made by the CIVL delegate or alternate.

CIVL look forward to hearing from potential Championship hosts in the very near future.
