World Pilot Rankings Update 10/10/01
The only changes in this interim
update are to the Paragliding rankings. There
are no changes to Hang Gliding, Class 2, PG Accuracy
or speed gliding.
PARAGLIDING
The paragliding rankings see the addition of the
Polish Open, Belgian Open and the French Championships.
No competitions are deleted. The top 7 places
remain unchanged, with Steve Cox (SUI) maintaining
1st place overall on 323 points. Jean-Marc Caron
and Martin Brunn move up a place to joint 8th
and Jimmy Pacher slips from 8th to 10th.
Louise Crandal (DEN) keeps her in
the lead of the female rankings, in 36th place.
There are currently 840 pilots.
Results not yet received
(and therefore not included in WPRS yet the Argentinian
Open (PG), Czech PG Nationals, Dutch HG Open,
Internationale de France (HG, C2). The Cornizzola
Cup was cancelled.
Forthcoming hang gliding competitions
that qualify for WPRS points are: Category 2:
Korean Championships; Canungra Classic, Australia;
South African National Championships.
Forthcoming paragliding competitions
that qualify for WPRS points are: Category 2:
Korean PG Championships; Canungra Cup, Australia;
All Africa Championships: Australian Nationals;
Manilla Open.

COUNTRY RANKINGS
There are few changes in the paragliding
country rankings, with Switzerland still in the
lead ahead of France (2nd) and Austria ( 3rd)
Japan (4th) has moved ahead of Germany in 5th.
Great Britain and Denmark stay in 6th And 7th
place while the USA continues its way up the rankings,
moving up to 8th from 15th. Slovakia (9th) and
South Africa complete the top 10.
Full details of the country rankings (PG and HG) can be found on the World Pilot Ranking System website. Pilots should check that their personal record shows the correct nationality, particularly as there are a number of hang glider and paraglider pilots of unknown nationality.
