The 5th Sailplane Grand Prix series was completed in July this year with the successful event at Zar in Poland, all the results and news of the events can be seen on the new Sailplane Grand Prix web site at www.sgp.aero.
The new SGP web site has been developed during the last SGP series and all future events can be found on this site. The SGP team is now turning its full attention to the 5th SGP final to be held at Sisteron in France in May 2014 a full list of the qualifying pilots can be found on the SGP web site.
The FAI Sailplane Grand Prix qualifying competitions for the 6th FAI SGP series will be held between the 1st of June 2014 and the 31st of May 2015and the 6th FAI World Sailplane Grand Prix final will be held in the latter half of 2015.

The 7th FAI Women's World Gliding Championship celebrated three new champions: the French Anne Ducarouge in 15m class, the German Christine Grote in Club Class and the strong German pilot Sue Kussbach that was awarded the gold medal in the standard for the third consecutive year.

The final qualifying event for the 5th FAI Sailplane Grand Prix series will take place at ZAR in Poland 27th July to 3rd August, the winners of this event will qualify for the World Sailplane Grand Prix final to take place at Sisteron in France during spring 2014.

The 32nd FAI World Gliding Championships have been characterised so far by the selective and demanding weather conditions of very strong wind and blue thermals.

The 32th FAI World Gliding Championships started yesterday in the beautiful and historical airfield of Otto Ballot in Adolfo Gonzales Chaves, Argentina.
The representatives of 24 Countries are enjoying the warm Argentinian hospitality. A nice Opening Ceremony was held in town on Saturday and the competition started yesterday.

From 20th to 29 July 2012 the 2012 Ostrow Glide, which was also the pre-European Gliding Championships, took place in Ostrów Wielkopolski, Poland. The event was organised by the Ostrów Aero Club. 93 pilots took part in the competition in 4 different classes: 19 pilots in Open Class, 20 in Standard Class, 40 in Club A and 14 in Club B. A lot of foreign teams also participated in the competition taking place at the Michałków Airfield (EPOM). For the competitors from France, Finland, Germany, Romania, Czech Republic, Sweden, Russia, Lithuania, this competition was a good training ahead of the 17th European Gliding Championships in Ostrow next year.

This summer in southwest Texas, from the 28th of July to the 19th of August, the sky will be full of sailplanes, and the airwaves filled with the languages of more than 23 different countries, as 120 pilots from around the world compete at the 32nd FAI World Gliding Championships.
Hosted by the Soaring Society of America and sanctioned by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, the Championships will be held at Garner Field, a city owned public airport located three miles east of the central business district of Uvalde, Texas. The facility is named for John Nance Garner, the 32nd Vice president of the United States.

2012 Provence Glide, preparation event for the 2013 European Gliding Championships, was held recently, concurrently with France’s 15m National Championship at Vinon-sur-Verdon in south east France. As well as French contenders and foreign pilots hoping to be selected next year, there were a number of well-known names getting in some practice before setting off for next month’s World Gliding Championships, in Uvalde, Texas, USA.
