CIVA NOMINATIONS CLOSE

Nominations for various CIVA positions closed October 1st and in the past few weeks, CIVA Delegates and others have been contacted to confirm the nominations. These nominations were for CIVA officers, including the President, Vice President, and Secretary positions, as well as Chief Judges, International Juries, and Sub-Committee members.

The election will take place at the CIVA plenary meeting at the Burg Rabenstein, Waischenfeld, Germany on the 16th of November. Results will be announced after the meeting.

OVER 20 COUNTRIES TO ATTEND CIVA MEETING

The annual plenary meeting of the FAI Aerobatics Commission (CIVA) will begin with informal planning discussions on Friday, the 15th of November at the Burg Rabenstein, Waischenfeld, Germany. These sessions are helpful to Delegates in looking ahead to the future and to discuss rules proposals in an open and informal setting with no time limits. The formal sessions will begin on Saturday, the 16th of November when the plenary opens at 09.00 at the Burg.

The following countries have registered delegations for the meeting:

Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the USA.

More registrations are expected in the next few days. CIVA will consider rules proposals for 2003, Known compulsory sequences, and bids for future championships as well as reports on World and Continental Championships that are scheduled for 2003.

The meeting will be chaired by Mike Heuer, President of CIVA, and attended by the FAI President, Wolfgang Weinreich, and Secretary General Max Bishop.


CIVA TO CONSIDER RULES CHANGES FOR 2003

The CIVA Rules and Judging Sub-Committees met in Murska-Sobota, Slovenia on the 2nd of August to consider proposals received from ten countries and the Chief Judge of the World Aerobatic Championships. The proposals which have been recommended or modified will be presented to CIVA when it meets at the Burg Rabenstein near Nürnberg, Germany. Proposals which did not survive Sub-Committee will not be considered.

A copy of the Sub-Committees' report can be found here. The aerobatic community is invited to contact their national delegates to offer their views and input on this report. The final vote on rules proposals will take place during the CIVA plenary meeting on the 16th and 17th of November.
