WPRS update 1st July

This update will be used for pilot qualification for the Hang Gliding Worlds in Brazil. It sees changes to all rankings except Class 2.

HANG GLIDING (Class 1)
Added were the Canadian Nationals, Eva Menyhardt, Croatian Open, Alpen Open, Lithuanian Open, Nordic Championship and Millau Classic. Results from the Open Serra da Estrela and the Upper Austrian Open were not received so were NOT added. The Polish Nationals and the Greek Open were not valid. Deleted were the Australian Open, Buenos Aires Flatlander, Canarian and the South African Champs.

Manfred Ruhmer (AUT) regains his number 1 slot, 6 points ahead of Oleg Bondarchuk (UKR), Gerolf Heinrichs (AUT) and Mario Alonzi (FRA) move up a place to 3rd and 4th, Antoine Boisselier (FRA) remains 5th while Gordon Rigg (GBR) drops to 6th after missing some comps. Richard Walbec (FRA) stays 7th, but after their performances in Millau, Robert Reisinger (AUT) rises 5 places to 8th, Tom Weissenberger (AUT) climbs 9 to 9th and Bruno Guillen (FRA) jumps a place to 10th

In the nations rankings, France lead, USA stays 2nd, Germany takes 3rd from Australia.

PARAGLIDING
Competitions added were the Berchtesgarten Open, Croatian Open, Lithuanian Open, HVS Finnish Open, Veltins Schmitten Pokal, Stranik Open, Canadian Nationals. Deleted were the All Africa 01 and the Canarian Open. Results not received, so NOT added are Jaen Open, Portugese Douro Superior, Spanish Open in Ager, Romanian Open, X Copa Pirineus, XC Bornes Portugese Open. The British Open Mid Wales, PWC Greece and the Portugese Porto da Espada were not valid. The French Nationals and the Yu Open were received too late to be included and the Greek Open was postponed.

There is little change to the top 10, 1st-8th stay the same - Alex Hofer (SUI), Norman Lausch (GER) 2nd, Steve Cox (SUI) 3rd, Jean-Marc Caron (FRA) is 4th, Oliver Rossel (GER) and Torsten Siegel (GER) =5th, Achim Joos (GER) 7th, Stephane Andre (FRA) 8th, but Tomas Brauner (CZE Rep) gains a place to be =9th with Helmut Eicholzer (AUT).

In the nations rankings Switzerland lead, Germany is 2nd and France 3rd.

PARAGLIDING ACCURACY
The 2nd Petzenland Open was added.

Matjaz Feraric (SLO) still leads, but Matjaz Sluga (SLO) swaps places with Tone Svoljsak (SLO). Simeon Klocovnik (SLO) and Jaka Gorenc (SLO) each rise a place to 4th and 5th respectively, Tomaz Gorisek (SLO) drops 2 places to 6th, but Sandi Marincic (SLO) jumps 7 places to 7th, Neil Slinger (GBR) continues his rise to 8th ahead of Andy Shaw (GBR) in 9th with Franc Unuk (SLO) falling 2 places to 10th.

In the nations, Slovenia still dominate with GBR in 2nd and Serbia and Montenegro in 3rd.

CLASS 5
The Alpen Open was added.

Little change, 1st-6th stay the same - Christian Ciech (ITA) ahead of Alessandro Ploner (ITA), David Chaumet (FRA), Johan Posch (AUT), Bruce Barmakian (USA) 5th, Davis Straub (USA) 6th. Toni Raumauf (AUT) swaps places with Heiner Biesel (USA), Hansjoerg Truttmann (SUI) stays 9th and Jim Yocum (USA) 10th.

12 nations are ranked and there are no changes to the order, USA still dominate with Switzerland 2nd and Germany 3rd.

CLASS 2
There are no changes.

Brian Porter (USA) leads, 2 points ahead of Manfred Ruhmer (AUT with Robin Hamilton (UK) in 3rd.

USA is in the nations top spot, GBR is 2nd, Germany 3rd.
