ASIANIA, Secretary General, Faye Cox

Unlike the other Delegates/Alternate Delegates representing their countries, Faye Cox represents ASIANIA, an affiliated organisation with the following mission statement:

ASIANIA exists to pursue its aims and ideals towards promoting, developing and increasing standards in international competition, skills, technical knowledge, training, safety, friendships and better relations in the sport of parachuting and skydiving between the member countries and to provide a supportive role in promoting the values and benefits of FAI IPC membership.

ASIANIA was established in 1994 and by working towards compliance with the Memorandum of Understanding between FAI/IPC and ASIANIA signed in 2003, were granted Affiliate Membership to the FAI in 2005.

At the end of December 2006 the status of ASIANIA member countries is as follows:

FAI Active Member Countries: Australia, China, DPR Korea, Egypt, Hong Kong China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, United Arab Emirates.
FAI Associate Member Countries: Thailand, China Taipei, Philippines.
FAI Temporary Member: Mongolia, Bahrain
Non FAI Member Countries: Brunei, Oman, Syria.

Since 1995 the ASIANIA Championships have taken place on an annual basis. For 2007 the 11th ASIANIA Parachuting Championships & Merdeka Cup International Open will take place in Port Dickson, Malaysia 24-31 August. Go to the "Calendar" tab at the top of this page for more details

Mrs. Faye Cox (Australia) has worked as Secretary General of ASIANIA since the inaugural general meeting in 1995 and has attended the IPC General Meeting each year representing ASIANIA.
