Liam McNulty, Technical Secretary IPC

It is almost an insult to ask those who are active in IPC for their skydiving history and an impossible task to summarise it here:

Liam McNulty

DOB: 1942
Years in Skydiving: 27
Number of Jumps:"4,000"

Technical Secretary IPC
IPC Alternate Delegate Kenya
Member of the Technical & Safety Committee

I was a late-comer, at age 37 years, to Skydiving (heard an advert on the radio and decided to try it) and I became interested in the areas of Safety and Training early on, and being a paperwork person by nature, I was soon involved in the organisational and running of parachuting in Ireland. My business career was initially in purchasing and later I was an Administrator for an Irish traditional music organisation, a fascinating job.

Since 1988 I have been involved with the IPC Technical and Safety Committee, the holding of Technical Congresses, the production of the annual Safety Survey Report and other work.
I have over 4,000 jumps and plan to continue jumping as long as possible. I enjoy being at Harro Trempenau’s fantastic Boogie in Kenya and jumping at the Slovak Boogie each year. I value greatly the friendship of the many fine people from all countries, whom I have met through IPC. It is most rewarding helping new jumpers to progress. I find it hard to say ‘no’ and so I am now Technical Secretary to the IPC, where I hope I can be of help.

My most memorable jump was at Arnhem in 2002, with veterans of the airborne landings there in 1944 – wonderful old men.
