FAI/CIVL and PWCA Co-operation

CIVL (Commission Internationale de Vol Libre) and the Paragliding World Cup Association are now working in close co-operation. At the recent CIVL Plenary meeting, Olivier Burghelle, President of the PWCA, was elected as a Vice President of CIVL cementing the excellent relationship the two bodies have developed.

Olivier said :

• "I am very pleased to have been elected a Vice President of CIVL and extremely optimistic for the future of paragliding now that CIVL and the Paragliding World Cup Association are working in close co-operation for the advancement of our sport in the world-wide arena."

PWC competitions now have FAI category 2 sanctioning and the results count towards the new FAI / CIVL Pilot Ranking Scheme. In addition the PWCA are promoting the first FAI World Air Games in Turkey to all PWCA pilots and strongly recommending participation.

The two bodies will also be communicating and liaising on various subjects that are important to the advancement and promotion of our sports in the world-wide arena.
