Minutes - September 2004 CIG Bureau Meeting

DECISIONS TAKEN BY THE BUREAU AT A MEETING HELD ON
Thursday 2nd SEPTEMBER 2004 ZWEIBRUCKEN, GERMANY.

  1. Present:

David Hamilton – President, Konrad Geissler – 1st Vice President, Wolfgang Perplies – Secretary. Also in attendance President of Honor – Alfred-Pierre Herbert.

  2. Minutes of Plenary Meeting 25th/26th March 2004

It was agreed that the Minutes were a correct record of the Meeting.

  3. Record Application – Pole to Pole – Jennifer Murray

The President reported that the FAI had notified a time limit to produce the missing data required for the record file. He had contacted Mrs. Murray and offered his help.

  4. World Helicopter Championship 2005

The Bureau expressed great surprise that the requirement by the Commission for the bid to be submitted in writing had been ignored. The President reported that he had sent a reminder to which there had been no response.

Discussion took place with regard to the level of fees. The Bureau reached the conclusion that although they personally considered the fees as being excessive they would await responses by the Delegates.

The first Bulletin was regarded as premature and poorly drafted, because the “Bid” must be approved and the “Organiser Agreement” signed in advance of any Bulletin. A request would be made for its withdrawal. The prospective organisers would be given until 30th September 2004 to provide the total bid document. The President was instructed that this timescale should not to be extended.

  5. International Helitrade Exhibition, Geneva – October 2004

The UK Delegate was making a presentation in respect to the Championship at this Exhibition. No member of the FAI or the Bureau of CIG had either been informed or invited to participate at the event. The UK Delegate would be requested to refer to a ‘proposed Championship’ which was yet to be confirmed.

  6. Media Friendly Events

Further work is required in respect to the ‘bottle opening’ and a prospective ‘piano event’. Proposals would be presented in March 2005 as the basis for a Media Helicopter Festival.

  7. Any Other Business

The Bureau decided that all Plenary and Bureau Minutes would appear on the CIG Website.
