Andalucia proved to be a very interesting playground for air sports that participated in the 2nd World Air Games that ended on Sunday 01 July. Paragliders experienced ceilings of over 4000 metres, more than 7000 jumps were made in Granada at the parachuting championships and gliders enjoyed rates of climb in excess of 6 metres per second.

The pilots from the Spanish team have taken the first four places of the championship, with Ramon Morillas becoming the new WAG and World PPG Champion. Spain also wins the gold team medal, ahead of the Czech Republic and Russia.

The 2nd WAG in General aviation competitions will take place in Cordoba and run from 24 to 30 June.
There are two different disciplines in General Aviation : Rally and Precision Flying, both of which will be included in the WAG. The competitions will consist in the the 12th World Air Rally Championship and the 10th European Precision Flight Championship. These will also be World Air Games Championships, and Wag Champion titles will be awarded as well to the winners.
