QUILLO : The stars in the WAG 2001 logo symbolise the various air sports in clear
ascent and the many athletes competing high up in the sky!
QUILLO is the WAG 2001 mascot and a star in his own right. Born out of the
imagination of Seville graphic designer Antonio Esquivias* and named in true
local lingo, QUILLO, the "little guy", certainly knows how to fly!
*
Antonio Esquivias was also responsible for the "look" of the 1999 World
Athletic Championships in Seville, for which he designed the logo and the
highly successful mascot "Giraldilla".

Take off with QUILLO !
 | The basic representation of QUILLO, the little guy who knows how to fly.
 | Like many, QUILLO started his flying career with Aeromodelling and still competes at the highest level.
 | QUILLO is a very skilled aerobatic pilot, ready to take on the challenge of flying against the best competitors at the WAG.
 | But he also enjoys practising glider aerobatics.
 | Always first in a thermal, QUILLO takes his glider farther and higher than anybody.
 | A born skydiver, QUILLO also scores high in the parachuting disciplines.
 | You thought QUILLO wouldn't dare flying his paraglider against Jimmy Pacher, Christian Tamegger and the likes... Well, you'd better think twice !
 | Hang gliding, the air sport discipline closest to flying like a bird. Who else than QUILLO would you find up there enjoying pure soaring flight !
 | Here comes QUILLO in his microlight. Philippe Zen, three-time World Champion, may take a ride...
 | Knowing QUILLO, there is no question he has embraced the new fast growing discipline that is powered paragliding.
 | And at the end of the day when balloons are inflated, QUILLO wants to be up there as long as possible.
