Luxembourg Skies
From July 28th to August 11th this year the skies above and around Luxembourg will be heavily populated by a multitude of hot air balloons participating in theThe organisers of the MOBILUX TROPHY '99 invite all balloonists in or
around Luxembourg from August 4 to 8 to visit this competition and to eventually
participate in the Fiesta Flying for one or more flights.
The MOBILUX TROPHY '99 is a limited entry event with 30 competition pilots from all over
the world, competing in the WORLD HONDA GRAND PRIX series of competitions. It is a
highly competitive FAI CAT1 event directed by Les Purfield and Masashi Kakuda.
Some complete balloon systems are available for some flights, and participation is free of
charge. Pilots and crew will receive free propane for one flight and on Saturday August 7
are invited to a free dinner with all participants.
Saturday night will also see the most spectacular Night Glow / Sound & Light Show /
Fireworks in the deep valley of Michelau with the mighty castle of Bourscheid in the
background.
Sunday afternoon you may also participate in the famous FIG Flight, a combined Fly-In and
Grab contest, and win a complete Windsock wind-reading equipment (electronic theodolite)
or a cash prize of 30,000.- Luf.
