FAI BALLOONING COMMISSION ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Annual Conference in Cernay-la-Ville, FRANCE

This year the annual conference of the International Ballooning Commission  (CIA) of the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) was held March 7 and 8 in Cernay-la-Ville, FRANCE and hosted by the Federation Francaise d’ Aerostation (FFA), Martine Besnainou, French Delegate.

There were 27 countries represented, in addition Wolfgang Weinreigh, President FAI and Jean-Marc Badan, Promotions Manager also from the FAI. Future World Air Games (WAG) sanctioned by the FAI were significantly downsized from previous WAG that had 4000 participants making it very expensive and a logistical nightmare. The 3rd WAG will have approximately 750 participants and will include 60 lighter than air competitors including 30 hot air balloons, 15 gas balloons, and 15 hot air ships.
