2021 FAI World Parachuting Championships - Mondial

Tanay / Kemerovo,

10 Aug
20 Aug 2021

We are extremely pleased to be able to inform you that WADA has at last accepted that the Mondial be held in Russia in 2021. You will find the official text below:

"Having reviewed the information provided by your organization and based thereon, we acknowledge your assessment that it would be legally or practically impossible to withdraw the Event from Russia or to reassign it to another country. Against this background, we do not consider the hosting of the Event in Tanay to be in violation of the Award".

I am really pleased that the Mondial will now be able to take place even though the environment and circumstances will be rather different from those initially planned. It has been a long journey to reach this point and the ISC Bureau would like to thank you all for your patience and understanding.

We are aware and are very sorry that certain nations will not be in a position to attend the event. We are also very aware that the volatile situation may cause last minute changes to travel arrangements. We encourage you to purchase refundable flight tickets and to be vaccinated if at all possible.

Unfortunately, due to lack of entrants, the Canopy 4-way Sequential Event has been cancelled. All other events have pre-registered more than the minimum number of NACs required and so will go ahead.

Our concern now is to organize a competition that will enable our athletes to show their skills in the safest possible environment.

The competition schedule has been reviewed to keep the number of participants at the Tanay competition site to a minimum and to reduce the time delegation members need to spend in Russia. It is very important that you take note of the revised schedule as your athletes will only be expected to arrive and depart on the days indicated for their discipline.

There is no change to the schedule for the Kemerovo site.

The new schedule is attached as part of Bulletin 2 together with the Anti-Covid Protocol issued by Russia and reviewed and accepted by the FAI Medical Commission, the FAI Controller (a medical doctor) and the ISC Bureau. You will find the bulletin here.

Accompanying persons will no longer be allowed to attend the event. Only official delegation members will be accepted.

Local spectators will be allowed to visit the event but they will be kept completely separate from the competitors and officials.

The entry fee will not be changed in spite of the modified schedule as the budget is severely impacted by the cost of ensuring all the Anti Covid measures.

Please do not hesitate to contact myself or the organizer if you have further questions.

The Mondial Organiser and the ISC Bureau that I represent hope and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the Mondial 2020.

Best wishes to you all,

Gillian Rayner
President - International Skydiving Commission
