Day 2 - EISC, Voss

Friday 13th April 2018

Today starts with the Artistic Events - we shall not see the FS competitors (or judges) until 16.00 hrs this afternoon.  They are off enjoying the beautiful walks available around Voss.  Meanwhile those of us at the tunnel are being treated to some stunning flying displays by all the Freestyle and Dynamic fliers.

FS 4-Way Junior - Norweigan Team

Meanwhile the competition is settling down.  The Jury was asked to make a decision following an error in the Dynamic Rules with regard to the bracketing - this has been resolved without issue and the Jury Notice is published in the Documents assocaited with theis event (see the link from the top menu).

At the moment we also have several tie positions across the disciplines which makes for exciting competitions.

In FS 4-Way Female Russia and Sweden are tied in 3rd place in the FS 4-Way Open Switzerland and Sweden tie for 3rd and in Freestyle Open Germany and Latvia are tied for 2nd and Switzerland and Slovakia for 4th.  The Dynamic have now completed their qualifying rounds and we have started the first rounds of the challenges today.  Keep an eye on the results by following the link at the top.

Two new World and European records have been received by the FAI - following a decision made at the IPC Plenary meeting this year, Dynamic Speed results have been added to the Competition Records and so yesterday the first D2W Speed record was set by Poland with 61.224 seconds and for D4W France 69.45 seconds.  Congratulations to our new record breakers.

The first two rounds of the tournament have been flown, and Russia and Sweden are out of the D2W.  They can now relax and watch the rest of the competition.  Also, unfortunately, the Czech Republic 4-Way team "Bad Boys" will not be flying today, due to one of their team members receiving a leg injury.

If there was a prize for the best suits at this European Championships then for me it would go to the Norwegian 4-Way Dynamic team - they are beautiful:
