Check out the latest news on the 2022 FAI Drone Racing World Cup!
As the world governing body for all air sports recognised by the International Olympic Committee, the FAI is responsible for world drone sports.
Drone racing is the newest air sport within the FAI. Driven by the development of easily available technology, drones have been brought tens of thousands of new people into the world of air sports very quickly. In countries across the world, whether it's flying a drone for photography, racing drones, or using drones for business, it is clear that a whole new world of aerial activity is opening up.
The 2019 edition of the FAI Drone Racing World Cup was the most exciting one yet with hundreds of pilots participating in more than 23 competitions (Challenger Series) around the world, and the launch of a new Masters World Cup Series. The competition season culminated in the 2019 FAI World Drone Racing Championship Grand Final, which took place in Xiangshan Ningbo, China.
In 2021 and 2022, the drone competitions were very few due to the pandemic. As a consequence, there were no World Cup rankings and no FAI World Drone Racing Championship.
