Day 3 at the 47th World Military Parachuting Championship, Qatar
The first rounds of Accuracy Landing and Style jumps took place in Doha, Qatar at the 47th World Military Parachuting Championship today, 15 November, followed by a fabulous Opening Ceremony demonstrating the CISM motto, "Friendship through sport".
Accuracy Landing and style
The competition in Doha has kicked off with great weather conditions for the athletes, however stronger winds are predicted to arrive in a few days. The organisers have therefore taken the decision to push forward with the Accuracy Landing rounds to ensure the skydivers have the best conditions to compete. The first rounds of the Style also took place for the female skydivers.
The amazing skills of the Accuracy Landing athletes are demonstrated in the results, with several athletes managing to land within 1cm of the target.
Opening Ceremony
The slick organisation continued with the wonderful Opening Ceremony. Officials arrived, and the speeches took place, as well as the team parades.
The show included a demo from the Qatari Paragliding, Paramotor and Canopy Formation teams, who performed some impressive displays with pyrotechnics.
