FAI at WADA Anti-Doping Symposium

The first WADA Annual Symposium since 2019 was held in hybrid format in Lausanne between 11-12 June 2022 and was attended by around 600 delegates in person as well as over 200 online.

The conference is usually an annual event but with two years of postponements, the 2022 Symposium was well attended, gathering athletes, international sports federations, government representatives, national and regional anti-doping organisations, major event organizers, WADA-accredited laboratories and athlete passport management units, as well as international media and other stakeholders.

Representing FAI was dedicated anti-doping manager Segolène Rouillon, who commented:

“FAI is committed to a continuing partnership with WADA, and the anti-doping symposium is an important event. Participating at this conference, which gathers the whole sporting community together, is necessary for FAI to keep abreast with the current and future challenges that sports organisations face in anti-doping, and the progress that is made in this field."

The event opened with a keynote address by WADA President Witold Bańka and a presentation by Director General Olivier Niggli, followed by 24 interactive sessions delivered by anti-doping stakeholders in close collaboration with WADA representatives.

FAI Fly Clean

FAI has endorsed the World Anti-Doping Code since 2003 and is a signatory, meaning that it follows the recommended rules for international federations for the FAI Fly Clean programme to ensure that athletes have access to education, official testing, and their records registered on the WADA database, ‘ADAMS’.
