The winner of the 2018 grant was Vincenzo Navanteri for his drone ambulance project.

The $20,000 grant was presented to the winner at the 2018 FAI International Drones Conference and Expo, which was held at the EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) Rolex Learning Center in Lausanne, Switzerland from August 31 to 2 September 2018.
