21st FAI World Hang Gliding Class 2 Championship
Aspres sur Buech,
The 21st FAI Hang Gliding Class 2 World Championship is open, for the first time ever, to Class 2 hang gliders equipped with an electric self launch system. Aerotow facilities are also available for non-motorised entrants. Launching by electric engine is less polluting and uses less energy than conventional aerotow launching.
The event is organised by ADPUL, the Association that organised the 20th FAI World Hang gliding Class 2 Championship in 2017. It will take place in the same flying area of the French Alps. ADPUL has promoted electric launching on Class 2 hang gliders for many years. Sensor and instrumentation technology monitors that the engine is only used within the allowable limitations for launch.
ADPUL was awarded the 2018 FAI Gold Medal for promoting Airsports.
